The book deals with the geotechnical analysis and design of foundation systems for high-rise buildings and other complex structures with a distinctive soil-structure interaction. Steffen Leppla is a scientific research assistant at the Institute and Laboratory of Geotechnics of Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany.

Professor Deepankar Choudhury is a full Professor at IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India. He is the Secretary of TC 212 on Deep Foundations, and of TC 207 Soil Structure Interaction and Retaining Walls of ISSMGE
